Muriel's Story
Sketch of Forncett End by Horace Pymer, c 1910
Muriel's Story
Forncett History Group has recently published 'Muriel's Story', a fascinating compendium of memories of growing up in Forncett End and Long Stratton, South Norfolk.
It was her son, Pierre Rowe, who encouraged Muriel Rowe (née Pymer) to set down her treasured reminiscences from birth to marriage. Her perceptive and sensitive account recalls life for her in the first half of the twentieth century as a child and a maturing young woman, increasingly undertaking tasks in service. Readers will appreciate how she willingly accepts responsibilities of varying kinds against the backdrop of a strong family life and the world at large. A good read and profusely illustrated.
